Today we had the opportunity to compare and contrast two different Disney songs! Hakuna Matata from The Lion King and Don't Worry Be Happy by Bob Marley share the same central message: Be happy and don't let things bother you. The students were able to take the songs and find things that were the same as well as things that were different by writing on their desks with dry erase markers! We compared the characters, the setting, the central message, and even the feelings presented in each song! The students had a blast listening to the songs and analyzing their meaning.

Field Trip
As you can see from these pictures, the kids had a great time on their trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Not only did they find animals in their natural habitats, but they got dirty in the process! Thanks to Mrs. Kindig and Mrs. Berquist for volunteering their time to come with us.

Valentine's Day
Here are a few pictures from this morning. The kids loved passing out their Valentine's to all of their friends. What a creative group of kiddos (and parents)!

Akron Art Museum
We absolutely LOVED the Akron Art Museum. The docents commented on the vast background knowledge of the children. They said they never had such deep conversations about color, texture, technique, and various artists from 2nd graders. Kudos to Miss Hickey! Special thanks to Mr. Barner and Mrs. Millet for coming on the trip with us!

Holiday Party
Thank you to all the parents that worked so hard on our Holiday Party. The kids loved their snowman races, craft, story, and of course their snack! I appreciate all the hard work that went on at the party, and behind the scenes.
