Fall Festival

Thanks to all the parents that helped at the party, and behind the scenes today.  We loved the masks, bingo game, story, and of course the parade!

Mr. Bender's Visit

Mr. Bender paid our class a visit this afternoon.  He read a Halloween story, and brought Shane's service dog with him.  The kids loved meeting Huey and getting a chance to see what a support he is to Shane.  Thank you Mr. Bender!

Are We Seeing Double?

Welcome to our new student Heather!

Candy Wrappers With Cubes

Today for our math lesson, we created candy wrappers that would need to fit completely around a cube. This activity helps the students to understand the faces of a cube, as well as the edges. Even though this activity was a challenge, it was great to see the kids persevere until they found a solution that worked. As you can see by their faces, they were extremely proud of their hard work.

Adjective Sentences

We began our unit on adjectives this week. The kids had a chance to walk around the school and take photographs.  They later used the app Instaframe to add adjective sentences that described their pictures!  Great activity!

Author Visit

Thank you to Mr. V for visiting our room on Monday.  He did a great job showing us how authors take big ideas and simplify them into one small moment!  What a great way to start our personal narratives!

Principal's Pals

The kids had such a great time yesterday with Mrs. Troman during their Principal's Pals.  She read them a story called Octocorn, which was a great connection to our Geometry lessons.  After the story, they got to create their own animals that were a combination of two different animals.  We had dogosaurs, elephins, and many more!  Thanks to all the parents that volunteered their time, especially Mrs. Duckham, and Mrs. Ziegler!
