Burton Century Village

The kids had a wonderful time at Burton Century Village.  What a great way to begin our Social Studies unit on Then and Now.  A special thanks to Mr. Bultrowicz and Mrs. Wisniewski for helping out on our trip.

I MOUSTACHE You A Question!

We have been practicing how to ask and answer questions with text.  The children know they can only ask a question that they can find proof of the answer!  Finding proof of our answers is a fundamental reading skill, and the children are beyond amazing at doing so!  Go ahead, tell your child that you MOUSTACHE them a question about their reading, and then have them find the proof! 

Sentence Selfies

We have working on the four types of sentences. The students worked with an app called Instaframe where they could write a question, command, statement, and exclamation that matched their selfies.  They are adorable!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a Second Grader!

There is nothing better as a teacher than seeing these little faces on the first day of school.   I can't wait to get to know each and every child this year!  It was a great first day!

Welcome to 2nd Grade!

If you're reading this blog, I hope it's because you just found out that you are in my class!  I am very excited for school to begin, and I hope that you are too!  I have planned so many exciting activities that I am certain you will love.  Keep checking your mail next week, because I am going to send you a letter with lots of information.  I can't wait to meet you in a few weeks, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
